Pergaquick A2 X is a 10% dimethylaniline (DMA) and is added to polyester resin as an accelerator to provide very fast curing of unsaturated polyester resins in combination with a BPO paste or powder. This product is also added as a promoter to cobalt or MEKP-curing polyester and vinyl ester resins to ensure good curing at lower processing temperatures.
Compared to a cobalt or MEKP system, a DMA/BPO system is less sensitive to moisture and also cures better at lower temperatures. The disadvantage of a DMA/BPO system is that it provides inferior UV resistance and less complete curing (higher residual styrene content).
Application
Pergaquick A2 X is insoluble in water, but soluble in various organic solvents.
