Aramid-based fabrics give the laminate high impact resistance combined with high tensile strength at a low weight. In addition, aramid fabrics provide slight expansion with heat. Aramid fabrics are available in 60 - 600 g/m² in various weave styles. Aramid fabrics are not UV resistant and the colour will change from fresh yellow to golden yellow under the influence of UV. These fabrics should be wrapped well after use, as they tend to attract moisture.
Application
The best results with aramid fabrics are achieved when processed with an epoxy resin. Aramid fabrics are used in products where high impact resistance combined with low weight is required.
