Multiaxial reinforcements
Roving strands oriented stretched and choked
UD (1 axis), biaxial (2 axes), triaxial (3 axes) or quadratil (4 axes)
Suitable for polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resins
Multiaxial reinforcements are glass systems in which the roving strands are stretched in the 0, 90, -45 or +45 degree direction and then stitched. Depending on the number of directions connected, we call it a UD (1 axis), biaxial (2 axes), triaxial (3 axes) or quadaxial (4 axes) oriented reinforcement.
UD reinforcements
Glass reinforcement system where the axes are oriented in one direction. Available as standard from 600 g/m² to 1200 g/m².Biaxial reinforcements
Glass reinforcement system in which the axes are oriented in two directions: either the 0/90 degree direction or the -45/+45 degree direction. Available as standard from 300 g/m² to 1200 g/m².Triaxial reinforcements
Glass reinforcement system in which the axes are oriented in three directions: either the 0/-45/+45 degree direction or the 90/-45/+45 degree direction. Available as standard from 600 g/m² to 1200 g/m².Quadaxial reinforcements
Glass reinforcement system where the axes are oriented in four directions, namely the 0/90/-45/+45 degree directions. Available as standard from 600 g/m² to 1200 g/m².
A multiaxial reinforcement provides high stiffness to the product in the direction of the axes. Reinforcements in a different weight are available on request.
Application
Multiaxial reinforcements can be basically processed with polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy resins in hand-lay up and injection techniques.
Romar-Voss Composites' product range includes the multiaxial reinforcements of our A-brand suppliers P-D Glasseiden GmbH Oschatz.
