Aramid reinforcement materials

Aramid reinforcement systems are used in structures requiring high tensile strength combined with high impact resistance at a low weight. The advantage of aramid is that this fibre has a low coefficient of thermal expansion. The best results are achieved when carbon reinforcement materials are processed with an epoxy resin.

Aramid fabrics

  • Various weave styles

  • Available in 60 to 600 g/m²

  • 100 or 120 cm wide

  • High impact resistance combined with high tensile strength at low weight

  • Low expansion with heat

  • Best suitable for epoxy resins

Aramid UD tapes

  • Uni-directional

  • Available in 150 & 200 g/m²

  • 1.5 to 25 cm wide

  • Strands in warp direction

  • Great impact resistance combined with high tensile strength at low weight

  • Low expansion with heat

  • Beautiful for epoxy resins

Aramid balanced tapes

  • Equal weight in warp & weft

  • Available in 170 & 225 g/m²

  • 1.5 to 20 cm wide

  • High impact resistance combined with high tensile strength at low weight

  • Low expansion with heat

  • Best suitable for epoxy resins
