Composite materials in construction

Composite materials are being used extensively in the construction industry. The lightweight and strong properties of these materials often make them a perfect solution in construction. In addition, products developed with composites have a long lifespan. These plastic products are used in the construction industry, e.g. in facades or gutters of various buildings.

A wide range of composite materials are used for the above applications. Examples include polyester, vinyl ester and special flame-retardant resins, gelcoats or topcoats, where fire resistance or fire retardancy are among the key requirements. However, various reinforcement materials and core materials, such as PVC and PET foam panels, are also widely used in construction. In the context of sustainability, PET foam panels are a common choice these days. These panels are made of recycled PET materials, plastic bottles that are reused for core materials.

Below is an overview of products frequently used in the construction sector. Curious about our complete range of composite materials and accessories? Then click here for the complete product overview.
